Historic Renovations

The renovation of this classic structure in the historic district of Van Vorst park in downtown Jersey City required the professional services of an architect that is familiar with the local codes and historic guidelines. The interior was completely transformed into three luxury two bedroom apartments and one magnificent two story residence for the owner. All apartments were furnished with high-end appliances, beautiful kitchens and energy-star heating and cooling systems. The facade was retrofitted with new architectural grade double hung wood windows and the exquisite existing double wide historic stoop doors were stripped and refinished to expose the original architectural wood details. Inside the building, a beautifully crafted five story staircase also underwent a complete restoration. Original hands painted murals in the stair hall were protected during construction and remain as part of the historic tradition of this project. The final project is a testament to the careful planning required to successfully restore, maintain and unite traditional architectural elements with modern amenities and infrastructure.
